The Derby Festival brings ‘the greatest flat race in the world’, The Derby, to the famed Epsom Downs Racecourse. - By Train: The nearest stations are Epsom, Tattenham Corner and Epsom Downs, with shuttle services and taxis available.
- By Car: The racecourse is just off the M25 (Junction 9 or 8) and is clearly signposted. Parking details for Green Room guests will be confirmed closer to the event date.
What time does the Epsom Derby usually start?
The races at the Epsom Derby Festival typically start at around 1:00 to 1:30 pm on both days. The Derby itself will run from around 4:00 pm on the Saturday. Take a look at the typical race day timing below:
- Gates are usually open from 11:00 am on both Ladies' Day (Friday) and Derby Day (Saturday).
- The first race is usually between 1:00 and 1:30 pm.
- Feature Races: The Oaks (Friday) and The Derby (Saturday) races usually start at 4:00 pm.
- Expect the final race to begin between 5:45 and 5:55 pm.
